Figaro Pho

Hey jokers.

Here's a tiny selection of literally hundreds of images I painted for the Figaro Pho TV show on ABC3. Did a bit of everything on this project. Formally credited as secondary character designer, matte painter, and production designer. Cheggitout.

Characters...

Thumbnail goodness...
 Trillions of props...

Enviros...

And I'll end with this gross matte painting. Can't even remember what the context of this one was. I'm guessing it's to do with something gross.

You can learn more about Figaro Pho and watch a short trailer here.

Unfinished Things, Volume a Billion

Seemed a waste for them to never to see the light of day.

A study I got bored with.

An illustration I got bored with.

A concept I got bored with.

A sketch I got bored with.

A matte painting I got bored with.

Some figure studies I got bored with (try and guess which one I didn't paint from a model!).

A solid brush study I got bored with.

A Squid I Did

Not many people make it to Squid Island and live to tell the tale. Not many people make it to Squid Island, period. It's not real.

Things

A few bits and bobs. All very serious today. Batmobile isn't finished and probably never will be.

Crubby Huitlacoche

I think my ultimate job would be to constantly pump out characters like this along with some brief written backstories. There's something about creating rubbish, ridiculous characters that seems strangely therapeutic and freeing. I've often thought that game art takes itself way too seriously. We've all seen the shaved head, tough guy space marine or the Sean Bean-esque sword weilding beardy a million times, but have you ever seen a guy dressed as a corn-aeroplane? Also, he fights crime. His name's Crubby Huitlacoche. To me, he's way more interesting than any other character on the game store shelves at the moment. Feel free to make a game about him.

I wanna make a book of these one day.
